A few weeks ago Lauren Hildebrandt, a student in the Event and Exhibit Design program at Seneca College, came to us looking for vintage décor to be used in her entry for the Seneca College tabletop competition: Inspired Spaces. On August 1st, 22 students competed by designing and bringing to life original décor and table top designs that were judged by a panel of event industry representatives. We were thrilled that she came to us and very excited at the opportunity to help her out.
Lauren’s table top theme was a “shabby chic country wedding”, where she designed a stunning sweetheart table for the bride and groom
Sticking with the rising shabby chic trend (one of our favorites – see our recent blog post), Lauren used our unique vintage pieces in her design such as the china, flatware, and stemware. Her centerpieces were a mix of antique tea pots, sugar bowls and creamers in various heights and sizes. We love that she also brought in some natural elements like the wooden chargers and birch bark menu, that Lauren created herself using a wood burning tool.
