As my first contributing post to Sash and Satin, I was unsure of what to write, where to begin. Then I stumbled upon this utterly cute video (see above) and found my direction!
In the last year or so, I have noticed the emerging trend in 20-30 something retailers launching a wedding collection (think J.Crew). The New York Times confirmed this trend for me last week. The article also pointed me to Anthropologies wedding brand BHLDN (inspired by the dutch word ‘to keep”).
Some of my more wedding-obsessed friends have been gushing about the line, and so I became curious to see if it lived up to the hype. It did! The collection launched only earlier this year, is available primarily online with one retail location in Houston, Texas.
I will go as far to say that I l.o.v.e the collection – and particularly the separates, as I tend to be somewhat of a non-traditional wedding style girl. Not to mention the great website which offers vintage-esque wedding ensembles to suit many a bride’s and bridesmaids’ taste. Check out the ”Explore” section of the site which covers everything from decor and honeymoon tips to the love stories of the people behind the brand.
Caution: you will be tempted to spend endless hours creating beautiful “Mood Boards” if you enter the myBHLDN page! Consider yourselves warned.
To end things off check out my top picks from the wedding / decor line:
Bowknot Pocket Shift (Bridesmaid)
(Somewhat traditional bride)
Cockle Shell Skirt (non-traditional Bride)
Veranda Wrist Gloves (Accessories - they are hand made! Love it!)
